Arnold Clavio draws ire after his statement regarding to Marikina residents

Arnold Clavio earns the ire of netizens.

It is after he ask an ‘insensitive’ question towards a woman who was a victim of Typh00n Ulysses.

On slaught of typh00n Ulysses, he is on one of his radio stations with Ali Sotto giving some updates to the netizens provides news and updates about typh00n Ulysses.

They interviewed by phone a netizen who allegedly stranded at their home in Marikina.

In a clip that has been circulating online, Arnold ask some insensitive questions.

He said why does they didn’t left their area.

When she already know what happens every time there’s a typh00n.

“Ba’t andiyan pa rin kayo na alam niyong lubog na kayo?” which was seconded by Sotto who said that they should have transferred.

“Kunwari kapag naghahanap kayo ng lilipatan, hindi mo ba natanong, ‘Kamusta noong Ondoy?’”

Angela, the said netizen, defended herself and said, “Noong Ondoy naman po kasi alam ko na…” Arnold interrupted and said, “Na mababa?”

The conversation earned a lot of criticism from netizens who called out the radio anchors for being insensitive towards the victim. Netizens said it seems like Arnold blamed the victim for choosing to stay in their house.

A tweet that has gone viral with more than a thousand reactions stated,”Very Unprofessional! Tumawag sa inyo yung tao to ask for help not to be blamed! It’s not easy to look for another place to live!! What kind of journalism is this?! And why Arnold Clavio is still in news after grooming a minor before?”

They were disgusted how it reeked privilege. Some argued that it’s a legit question only that it’s not empathetic knowing that the victim probably doesn’t have the means to buy new property for their safety.
